Partner Dancing
We love partner dancing! Partner dances range from the different styles of 2-step, Country Swing, Cowboy Cha Cha, other Cha Cha’s, and anything that you can creatively do with a partner. Many times instructors will teach all kinds of different partner dances in their classes unless they want to keep strictly to the 2-step and Country Swing.
Partner Dancing is good for anyone looking to find more things to do with their partner, friends, by themselves, for date ideas, etc. The possibilities are endless AND it’s fun cardio. The benefits of partner dancing is the uniqueness of trying to communicate without really using words. Sometimes the lead will communicate a trick or move that he/she wants to do but it moves a lot smoother (and it’s way more fun) when leads are able to clearly communicate the move that they want to execute.
Different types of partner dances
Everyone has a unique dance style waiting to be discovered, and it’s important to focus on the one that sparks joy in your heart! While it can feel overwhelming to choose, remember that every great dancer starts somewhere. Embrace the challenge, and don’t hesitate to dive into a style that excites you, even if it seems tough at first. Let us guide you in selecting the perfect dance path that resonates with your passion and helps you shine!

Frequently asked questions
The world of country dance is a hidden gem for many, and the starting point may seem elusive. We acknowledge the myriad of questions that arise before taking the first step. Our aim is to dissolve these uncertainties, enabling you to embrace this joyful experience and community!!
One is enough for beginners to get the feel of a basic 2-step but we encourage those learning to practice the steps walking around the house and randomly throughout the week.
We encourage simple spins (sticking to one or two) and maybe a simple dip. After that you can move onto combination spins and working lifting the feet off the ground for improver-level dips.
No, you don’t need a steady partner whether you’re a lead or a follow. You can practice the steps and spins while you “ghost” your partner. Imagine someone doing it with you to get your body used to what you should be doing. When you finally get with a partner, you can then practice listening to what your follow needs or listening to what your lead is communicating with his/her signals.
